Tunnel Boulevard Booklet
A project with Federica Polverari and Sarah Corrie for Communication Design course at NABA, Milan (2021)
#documentation #booklet #designdocumentation #communityengagement
What better way for a community to get involved then by transforming a space within the community itself! That is what the Tunnel Boulevard project aimed to do; involve the community of Via Padova in an action to transform the pedestrian tunnel into an open gallery. Our booklet project was aimed at capturing the chorus of voices of the residents participating in the activity.
To highlight the voices of the community we used direct quotes from our interviews and conversations on site during the activity which is a fresh approach to documenting this type of action. Using an accordion booklet structure allowed us to create a never-ending loop, which makes it so that there is no fixed beginning and end. We used seven keywords (Let's Go, Culture, Sharing, Community, Perspective, Inclusion, Future, Dreams) to guide the selection of the pictures, drawings, and quotes. This structure also allows the reader to see either a section or the whole booklet and when opened, we also hoped that the booklet could mirror the gallery like vibe of the tunnel itself.
ART-X Company
Sketch-noting for ART-X Company's CMDA Virtual Sessions (2020)
#sketchnoting #digitalillustration #handdrawnillustration #notetaking
One of my freelance projects was Sketch-noting for ART-X Company's CMDA Virtual Sessions. I worked for a total of 4 sessions and was provided with a video for each session. I had to extract the key points and deliver them visually through 4 panels for each session. This was challenging as I had to compress almost 2 hours worth of content into 4 panels that had to give concise information as well as be visually appealing.
iVolunteer
As the lead designer at iVolunteer, I worked on multiple creatives for a variety of purposes (2019-2020)
#graphicdesign #illustration #layouts
During my 1 year and 5 months tenure at iVolunteer as the lead designer of the communications team, I participated in building social media campaigns for social causes and events. I worked on various branding projects and newsletters and was involved in planning on-the-ground volunteering events and was a photographer for many of them. I grew exponentially as I had to communicate with multiple stakeholders and was a bridge between the centers across India and communications team.
Magazine Design
A magazine for the Access Summit for the Mental Health Foundation India (MHFI) (2020)
#graphicdesign #illustration #layouts
As a volunteer for the Mental Health Foundation (India), I and designed a magazine for the organisation to print the articles submitted for their Access Summit 2020.
This was a challenging but fun project to work on despite the extremely short deadline as MFHI gave me complete creative freedom. For the magazine, I contributed 2 full page illustrations as well as typeset the entire document.
